CMS Competitive Soccer Club FAQs 2014

General info:  Soccer is NOT a part of CMS Athletics.  It is officially a part of Humble ISD Soccer Clubs and will follow UIL guidelines.  All eight HISD MSs will field soccer teams this year.  The North Division consists of: Atascocita, Creekwood, Kingwood, Riverwood.  The South Division: Humble, Sterling, Timberwood, Woodcreek.  This is a competitive soccer club for 7th & 8th grade boys and girls.  Students will have to try-out and cuts will be made.

  • Roughly 18 players per team.
  • Regular season will be composed of 3 in-division games and 2 out-of-division games (five games total).  Out-of-division games will rotate each season.
  • Each team will play two home, two away and one neutral site game (usually at an HISD High School).
  • Top 2 teams per league (Boys A, Boys B, Girls A, Girls B) will play in championship game at Turner Stadium.
  • Game days are Monday afternoons, unless a conflict arises and another day is required.
  • Practice days and times will be discussed after the teams have been made.

CMS Soccer Players NEED YOUR HELP!!
We are so happy to have soccer at Creekwood Middle School.  We need your help to get this amazing sport off to a good start.    We need you financially and we need parent volunteers.

Financial Support Opportunities
CMS Club Soccer is not a part of HISD Athletics, thus HISD does not provide funds for uniforms, practice/game balls, corner flags, replacing old goal nets plagued with holes etc.  In order to ensure the 7th/8th girls and boys CMS soccer players have uniforms and proper soccer equipment this year, we need all CMS soccer families to consider donating $30, $50, $100 or more.  Please make checks out to 'CABC' (Creekwood Athletic Booster Club).  Checks may be turned in during the meeting tonight or brought to the front office to be placed in the CABC box.
Please contact Lora Unwin, CABC President, at   or 713.398.0975 if you have any questions.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities:
  • Girls liaison.  Works with coaches to communicate Soccer team logistical information via email.
  • Boys liaison.  Works with coaches to communicate Soccer team logistical information via email.
  • Team Tshirt Coordinator.  Works with coaches on T-shirt schedule, ordering, fee collection and distribution.
Contact Maureen Kovacik at  or 281.615.6724 if you are interested in helping.
